Washington Memorial Chapel’s Veteran’s Commission to Observe the 10th Anniversary of Purple Heart Day with Service and Reception

KING OF PRUSSIA, PAWashington Memorial Chapel’s Veteran’s Commission is proud to announce that it is hosting a special National Purple Heart Day service and reception on Wednesday, August 7 at 6:30 PM at the Washington Memorial Chapel (2000 Valley Forge Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406). During the service, Vietnam War Veteran and Founder of Mount America Foundation George Turak will regale guests will stories about his time in the Vietnam War as well as his experience forming the Mount America Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit that serves veterans, active duty and National Guard/Reserve service members, first responders and their families – as well as honors the families of those who paid the ultimate price. A reception will follow the service.

Purple Heart Day, observed annually on August 7, honors the brave men and women who were either wounded on the battlefield or lost their lives while serving in the U.S. military. The day is set aside for Americans to remember and honor those who valiantly represented their country and were decorated with a Purple Heart in the name of the President. It is also a time to highlight the rich history and significance of the Purple Heart medal. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Purple Heart Day.
