GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA — Gwynedd Mercy University recently raised more than $35.3 million through its Mercy in Motion campaign, surpassing its original $25 million goal, with support from nearly 2,200 donors.
The campaign, launched in January 2022, aimed to expand access to education and support the university’s focus on professional and healthcare programs.
Funds were directed toward three priorities: expanding healthcare education initiatives, increasing student scholarships, and supporting academic programs, faculty development, and campus life.
The campaign resulted in a 68% increase in scholarship funding and expanded support for service-immersion programs.
A $10 million contribution from the Maguire Foundation supported construction of the Frances M. Maguire ’55 Healthcare Innovation Center, designed for healthcare and interprofessional education.
Additional funding, including grants from Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, supported campus renovations, including upgrades to residential facilities, a gymnasium, and new outdoor student spaces.
“The Mercy in Motion Campaign has transformed what is possible for our students,” said President Deanne H. D’Emilio.
The campaign also generated the largest planned giving contribution in the university’s history, according to school officials.
University leaders said the effort strengthened long-term fundraising capacity and expanded resources for future students and programs.
