Downingtown

Official Website: Borough of Downingtown

Are you looking for information on Downingtown, PA? Here is an interesting bar bet fact. Once upon a time, the borough was known as Milltown. This was because of the large number of mills that, at one time, lined the East Branch Brandywine Creek. It was eventually named after Thomas Downing, a businessperson who owned several of those mills.

Today, thanks to the Victory Brewing Company, the town has become a major destination location for craft beer aficionados and ethicists. Regardless, the community is home to many other exceptional businesses. Community leaders work hard with businesses, homeowners, and others to create many great special events, local workshops, and improve the overall quality of life for residents.

The borough sits less than 37 miles west of Philadelphia along U.S. Route 30 (once known as Lincoln Highway). Plus, their train station is a stop for both SEPTA the Regional Rail’s Paoli/Thorndale Line and Amtrak’s Keystone Service. Additionally, the local school district is highly rated.
