HATBORO, PA — A 34-year-old woman faces four bad-check charges after Hatboro police alleged she issued checks totaling more than $850,000.
Police said the investigation began July 24 after the department received information about an individual suspected of issuing numerous bad checks.
Following interviews and the execution of search warrants, detectives identified Jessica Babb, 34, as the person allegedly responsible. Police allege Babb passed four bad checks totaling $850,225.
Investigators obtained an arrest warrant, and Babb turned herself in Sept. 28, according to police.
Babb is charged with four counts related to bad checks. She was arraigned Sept. 28 and released on $100,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is pending.
Anyone who believes they were defrauded by Babb or has information relevant to the investigation is asked to contact Hatboro detectives at 215-675-2832.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
