WEST CHESTER, PA — The West Chester Area School District received four 2025 Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association Awards of Merit for communications work across magazine, newsletter material, social media, and video series categories.
The district’s entries were recognized through PenSPRA’s statewide Excellence in Education Communications Contest, which drew more than 200 submissions.
The awards were presented in March during the President’s Luncheon at the annual PenSPRA Symposium.
“Communication is about more than sharing information, it’s about building trust and connection,” said Molly Schwemler, manager of district communications. “This recognition reflects a team that cares deeply about telling the story of our schools in a way that feels real, relevant, and worth paying attention to.”
PenSPRA, chartered in 1969, is a professional organization dedicated to improving communications between schools and their communities. It is one of the largest state chapters of the National School Public Relations Association.
The organization’s programs include the Excellence in Education Communications Contest, student scholarships for Pennsylvania public school seniors pursuing communications careers, and the School Communicator of the Year award.
