QUAKERTOWN, PA — Synergis Software has launched a cloud-based version of its Adept engineering document management platform, a move that positions the company to compete more aggressively in the growing market for software-as-a-service tools used by industrial and regulated industries.
The new offering, Adept Cloud, delivers the company’s document management platform through a browser-based subscription model, eliminating the need for customers to maintain on-premises infrastructure and software environments.
The launch reflects a broader shift across industrial software markets as manufacturers, utilities, pharmaceutical companies, and other asset-intensive organizations move engineering and operational systems to cloud environments while maintaining compliance and document-control requirements.
Adept Cloud includes the same core document management capabilities as Synergis’ existing platform while adding cloud-native deployment, automatic updates, and integrated artificial intelligence features.
The platform is designed for industries where engineering documentation serves as a critical operational and regulatory record, including manufacturing, oil and gas, chemicals, mining, utilities, and life sciences.
According to Synergis, the software provides version control, workflow management, CAD integration, audit tracking, and document governance capabilities intended to reduce operational risks associated with outdated or inaccurate engineering records.
The company said all subscription tiers include unlimited users, departing from the per-seat licensing model commonly used across enterprise software markets.
A key component of the rollout is Adept AI, which uses artificial intelligence to help users locate information within large engineering-document repositories and automate document-intensive workflows.
Kristen Tomasic, president of Synergis Software, said the cloud platform will serve as the company’s primary innovation environment going forward while also providing the foundation for future on-premises deployments.
Industry demand for cloud-based engineering document management systems has increased as organizations seek to modernize legacy infrastructure, improve collaboration, and reduce information-technology maintenance costs.
The launch follows recognition for the Adept platform in G2’s 2026 Best Software Awards, where the product was ranked among engineering document management solutions based on user reviews and adoption metrics.
Financial terms and customer adoption figures for Adept Cloud were not disclosed.
