NEW HOPE, PA — Orchestra BioMed Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: OBIO) will present its investment case to investors at the H.C. Wainwright 28th Annual Global Investment Conference on Sept. 16 as the New Hope biomedical company advances two medical-device technologies through pivotal clinical trials.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David Hochman is scheduled to present at 9 a.m. ET and hold one-on-one meetings with investors that day, according to the company.
Orchestra BioMed’s two lead programs are Atrioventricular Interval Modulation Therapy, or AVIM Therapy, for hypertension and the Virtue Sirolimus AngioInfusion Balloon, or Virtue SAB, for atherosclerotic artery disease. Both are being evaluated in pivotal trials for their lead indications.
AVIM Therapy is designed to use a pacemaker to reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertensive heart disease. Orchestra BioMed is developing and commercializing the technology for uncontrolled hypertension in pacemaker-indicated patients through a strategic collaboration with Medtronic.
The Food and Drug Administration has granted AVIM Therapy Breakthrough Device Designations covering pacemaker-indicated patients with uncontrolled hypertension and a broader population that the company estimates includes 7.7 million U.S. patients with uncontrolled hypertension despite medical therapy and increased cardiovascular risk.
Virtue SAB is a non-coated angioplasty balloon system designed to deliver an extended-release formulation of sirolimus, called SirolimusEFR, for treatment of atherosclerotic artery disease.
The FDA has granted Virtue SAB Breakthrough Device Designation for three indications: coronary in-stent restenosis, coronary small vessel disease and below-the-knee peripheral artery disease.
Orchestra BioMed describes both lead indications as representing multibillion-dollar annual global market opportunities.
