CHALFONT, PA — AWeber is positioning a new AI landing-page builder against general-purpose tools including ChatGPT, Claude and Lovable rather than traditional email-marketing platforms, betting that code generation can loosen the template constraints that have long shaped marketing software.
The Chalfont-based company released the AI Landing Page Builder with technology that generates HTML, CSS, JavaScript and images for individual pages rather than adapting prebuilt layouts, according to AWeber.
The approach puts AWeber into more direct competition with AI development and content-generation platforms as marketing-software providers increasingly incorporate large language models into existing products.
“We didn’t see other marketing platforms as our competitors,” Chief Product Officer Chris Vasquez said. “We saw Claude, ChatGPT, and Lovable.”
Vasquez said AWeber chose to have its models generate underlying code rather than confine output to a fixed page framework. The company argues that the method gives users more flexibility in layout and appearance, though the release provided no comparative performance data or independent testing of the resulting pages.
AWeber also used internal development work to test uses beyond conventional landing pages. Employees built playable games during an informal company hackathon, an exercise AWeber said influenced development of the broader page-generation system.
The company is also trying to differentiate its output stylistically. Vasquez criticized what he called the “beigeification” of AI-generated websites, referring to recurring layouts and visual conventions that emerge when models produce designs based on broad patterns in existing web content.
“Two companies can use the same underlying AI and produce completely different work,” Chief Operating Officer Sean Cohen said. “The difference is whether someone put in the effort to shape real taste, or just shipped the average.”
Cohen used the builder to replace a landing page for his own newsletter that had been produced with another AI tool, according to the company.
The landing-page product is being released alongside AWeber’s AI Signup Form Builder, while an AI email builder is scheduled for this fall. Pages created with the new system connect to AWeber’s email-automation infrastructure, allowing subscriptions to trigger associated mailing lists and automated follow-up sequences.
The release extends a broader AI push inside AWeber’s platform. Its existing tools include AWeber MCP, which allows users to manage email-marketing functions through ChatGPT or Claude, as well as an AI Newsletter Assistant, image-generation and enhancement tools, and a subject-line generator.
The strategy reflects a shift in how AWeber is defining its competitive market: less around incremental additions to conventional email software and more around whether specialized marketing platforms can match the flexibility users increasingly expect from general-purpose generative AI systems.
