WILMINGTON, DE — Bigfoot calls, tin foil hats and a room full of people trying to decide what is real and what is fake are coming together in Wilmington for a convention that promises to take conspiracy culture considerably less seriously than its name might suggest.
ConCon will make its debut Oct. 18 at the Siegel Jewish Community Center, bringing comedy, games, pop culture, interactive exhibits and independent vendors together for a day inspired by “The Conspiracists,” a mockumentary comedy filmed locally.
The event takes the fictional conspiracy convention at the heart of the movie and turns it into a real gathering, with organizers emphasizing curiosity, humor and shared entertainment rather than debating the truth of conspiracy theories.
“ConCon isn’t about whether conspiracy theories are true. It’s about why they’ve captured our imagination for generations,” Christopher Bruce of King Creative said. “Through comedy, games, pop culture, interactive exhibits, unique vendors, and a movie that brings it all together, ConCon transforms curiosity into a shared adventure that everyone can enjoy.”
From Bigfoot Calls to Tin Foil Hats
The ConCon Expo will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with activities designed for families, friends, skeptics, movie fans, comic enthusiasts and anyone simply curious enough to see what happens when a fictional convention escapes the screen.
Among the attractions is a Tin Foil Hat Build Station, where attendees can construct their own appropriately suspicious headwear — and potentially find out whose creation is judged the best.
Those willing to make a little more noise can enter the Bigfoot Calling Championship, while “Real or Fake?” will test attendees’ instincts through an interactive game show.
A vendor hall will feature comics, collectibles and work from independent artists. Attendees will also have opportunities to meet artists, puppeteers and creators involved with “The Conspiracists.”
The Movie That Inspired It All
After the expo wraps up, the event shifts back to the film that started the idea.
A full screening of “The Conspiracists” is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a live cast Q&A featuring behind-the-scenes stories from the production.
The mockumentary follows siblings trying to save their conspiracy-themed convention before everything falls apart. ConCon effectively reverses that premise, bringing the movie’s imaginary gathering into the real world for an audience in the region where the film was made.

Three Ways to Join the Conspiracy
The $10 Civilian Pass includes admission to the vendor hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., along with Main Stage programming, including a costume contest, Bigfoot Calling Contest, tin hat station and photo booth. Passholders also receive a scavenger hunt passport and access to food and merchandise.
The $15 Conspiracist Pass includes everything in the Civilian Pass, plus reserved seating for the movie watch party, access to the cast Q&A and double raffle entries.
The $25 Classified Access ticket adds 30-minute early entry, VIP movie seating, a post-panel group photo with the cast and a surprise giveaway that organizers plan to reveal only at the event.
For Bruce and the organizers, the larger idea is to create a place where people can set arguments aside and indulge their curiosity together.
That means no requirement to believe in Bigfoot, UFOs or anything else lurking at the edges of conventional wisdom. At ConCon, being willing to laugh, play along and perhaps build a structurally sound tin foil hat should be enough.
