PARKESBURG, PA — In case you missed it, The GIANT Company will open a 60,000-square-foot supermarket in Parkesburg on November 6, expanding its Chester County footprint to 14 stores and adding a full-service grocery location at The Shoppes of Sadsbury.

The store, located at 880 Nova Way, will open at 8 a.m. following a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by company employees and community leaders. Regular operating hours will be 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

The opening extends GIANT’s retail network in Chester County, where the company operates under the GIANT and MARTIN’S brands.

Mike Smith, a grocery industry veteran with 31 years of experience, has been appointed store manager.

The Parkesburg location will feature produce, meat, seafood, dairy, deli and bakery departments, along with prepared foods, floral services, a pharmacy and beer and wine sales.

The produce department will include dedicated space for organic products and international specialty items, while the meat and seafood section will feature a smoked salmon display.

The bakery will offer breads, cakes, desserts and donuts prepared daily at the store. The deli will carry pre-sliced meats, cheeses and prepared salads.

For customers seeking ready-to-eat meals, the supermarket will operate a hot food bar and provide freshly prepared sushi through an in-store sushi chef.

The store will also include a full-service floral department offering prepared arrangements and custom orders.

Its pharmacy will provide prescription services and a separate immunization room designed to offer privacy during vaccinations.

The beer and wine department will carry alcoholic beverages, including ready-to-drink wine slushies.

GIANT will also offer online grocery ordering through GIANT Direct, allowing customers to place orders at giantdirect.com and collect their purchases through curbside pickup.

The new location broadens the company’s physical and online grocery services in the Parkesburg area as retailers compete for customers seeking both traditional supermarket shopping and prepared-meal convenience.
