Traffic Advisory

LOWER POTTSGROVE TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that upcoming bridge demolition and roadway reconstruction will bring significant travel disruptions to U.S. 422 and Sanatoga Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, as part of an $83.6 million improvement project.

Beginning Monday, November 10, through Monday, December 1, Sanatoga Road will be closed between Linfield Road and High Street for demolition of the westbound bridge over U.S. 422. During the closure, motorists will be detoured via High Street, Evergreen Road, and Linfield Road.

In addition, westbound U.S. 422 will be reduced to a single lane from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and eastbound U.S. 422 will face lane restrictions from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM between the Sanatoga and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges from Monday, November 10, through Friday, November 14.

PennDOT cautions drivers to plan ahead, use alternate routes, and allow extra travel time, as delays are expected throughout the work zone. All work is weather dependent.

The large-scale project includes full-depth reconstruction of 2.1 miles of expressway, bridge replacements, and improvements to drainage and safety features aimed at extending the highway’s lifespan and enhancing travel reliability through Montgomery County.
