AVONDALE, PA — Drivers should prepare for two lengthy road closures and posted detours next week on Baltimore Pike and Route 841 in southern Chester County, with delays possible near the work zones and along alternate routes.

Baltimore Pike will be closed Wednesday, July 29, between Newark Road and Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) in New Garden Township and Avondale Borough. Drivers will be directed to use Newark Road and Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) around the closure.
Route 841, known locally as London Grove Road and Chatham Road, will close Thursday, July 30, between Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) and Pennock Lane in London Grove Township. The closure will remain in effect until 1:00 AM Friday.
Drivers will be directed to use Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) and Pennock Lane during the Route 841 closure.
Local access will be maintained at all times. Motorists should plan extra time, expect possible backups and seek alternate routes when practical, particularly during the afternoon and evening travel periods.
The schedule is weather dependent. Random Productions LLC will perform the work under a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Highway Occupancy Permit.
