LOWER PROVIDENCE TWP, PA — Ridge Pike will close overnight for five consecutive nights beginning Monday, July 27, as roadway and utility construction continues near the Germantown Pike intersection. Drivers should plan extra time and expect significant delays along the detour.

Ridge Pike will be closed between Pechins Mill Road and Crosskeys Road during the overnight work periods.
Drivers will be directed to use Germantown Pike and Evansburg Road. Motorists traveling near the closure or along the detour should expect backups and seek alternate routes when practical.
The work is part of a $26.2 million project intended to improve traffic flow and safety around Ridge Pike and Germantown Pike in Lower Providence Township.
The project includes relocating the intersection about 1,300 feet east, building a new signalized junction and constructing a connector road between Germantown Pike and Ridge Pike. The connector will also extend southwest to Pechins Mill Road.
Additional improvements include a roundabout at the northern end of the connector, an extension of River Road to Germantown Pike, wider sections of Ridge Pike, new turn lanes and stormwater drainage upgrades.
Allan Myers Inc., of Worcester, is the general contractor. The project is funded entirely with federal dollars.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and may be postponed or rescheduled.
