CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Madrigal Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: MDGL) is set to present at the Goldman Sachs Global Healthcare Conference this week as investors evaluate the commercial trajectory of Rezdiffra, the company’s liver disease therapy and the first approved treatment for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
The biotechnology company said it will participate in a presentation on June 10 at the 47th Annual Global Goldman Sachs Healthcare Conference.
While no new clinical or financial disclosures were announced, the appearance comes at a pivotal stage for Madrigal as it scales commercialization efforts for Rezdiffra and advances additional studies aimed at expanding the drug’s addressable market.
Rezdiffra, known generically as resmetirom, became the first therapy approved by both the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the European Commission for patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, or MASH, who have moderate to advanced liver fibrosis.
The approval established Madrigal as an early market leader in a disease area that analysts view as one of the pharmaceutical industry’s largest untapped commercial opportunities.
The company is also conducting a Phase 3 outcomes trial evaluating Rezdiffra in patients with compensated MASH cirrhosis, a more advanced stage of liver disease that could significantly expand the treatment’s potential patient population if successful.
Investor attention remains focused on physician adoption, reimbursement trends, market penetration and the long-term commercial opportunity for Rezdiffra as competitors pursue therapies targeting the same disease category.
Madrigal said a live webcast of the presentation will be available through the investor relations section of its website, with a replay accessible following the event.
For investors, the conference appearance provides another opportunity to assess management’s outlook on Rezdiffra’s launch performance and the company’s strategy for maintaining its position in the rapidly developing MASH treatment market.
