Task Force Raid Nets Cocaine, Raises Child Safety Concerns in Wilmington Home

WILMINGTON, DEDelaware State Police have arrested a Wilmington man following an investigation into alleged drug activity at a city residence, seizing a large quantity of suspected narcotics and related materials during the execution of a search warrant.

According to police, members of the Delaware State Police Governor’s Task Force executed a search warrant Wednesday, December 10, at a home in the 100 block of Denn Place. Investigators allege the warrant was obtained after detectives conducted an investigation into suspected illegal narcotics sales operating out of the residence.

Police said 55-year-old Jason Doyle was observed outside the home shortly before the warrant was served and was detained without incident.

Evidence

During the search, detectives allege they recovered approximately 520.90 grams of suspected cocaine, along with a digital scale and packaging materials commonly associated with drug distribution. Investigators further allege that the suspected contraband was found in areas of the home accessible to children who reside there.

Doyle was taken to Delaware State Police Troop 2, where he was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia. All charges are allegations.

He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $42,200 cash bond.

As with all criminal matters, a suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
