COATESVILLE, PA — A 33-year-old man has been charged in connection with a 2025 shooting that left a victim seriously injured, according to authorities.
According to Coatesville police, detectives arrested Dajon L. Nixon, 33, on April 22, 2026, in connection with an attempted homicide investigation stemming from a shooting on November 1, 2025.
Police said the shooting happened at approximately 1:55 a.m. in the 100 block of North 7th Avenue, outside a private club. Officers found Charles “Chucky” Smith Jr., 26, with multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body, according to investigators.
Authorities said Smith was transported to Paoli Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.
According to investigators, Nixon is accused in connection with the shooting and faces attempted homicide and related charges.
Police reported Nixon was arraigned and sent to Chester County Prison after failing to post $750,000 cash bail.
Authorities said the investigation is being handled by Detective/Corporal Kirt Guyer. Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the department.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
