Gunman Sought After Terrifying South Philly Robbery Spree

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect accused in two armed robberies reported minutes apart early Thursday, March 26, 2026, in South Philadelphia, including one incident in which police said a shot was fired at a victim.

According to investigators, the first robbery occurred at about 12:15 a.m. Thursday, March 26, near South 5th and Reed streets.

Police said a 41-year-old man was approached by an unidentified armed suspect who allegedly demanded that he lie on the ground and hand over his wallet. Investigators said the suspect allegedly stole about $300 and a gray Adidas backpack before fleeing west on Reed Street.

About 15 minutes later, police said a second incident occurred near South 7th and Federal streets.

According to investigators, a 26-year-old man was approached from behind by an unidentified armed suspect who allegedly demanded money and the victim’s cellphone. Police said the victim turned around and placed his cellphone in his front pocket before the suspect allegedly fired one shot.

Investigators said the suspect fled west along the north side of the 700 block of Federal Street. Nothing was reported stolen in the second incident, and no injuries were reported.

Authorities warned residents not to approach the suspect and to call 911 immediately if he is seen.
