Food Safety Inspections

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Health Department reported multiple food safety violations at three licensed food facilities following inspections conducted on Tuesday, April 28.

Violations were identified at Qdoba Mexican Eats in West Chester, Shawn’s Subzero LLC in Elverson, and Summit Food Service at Chester County Prison.

At Qdoba Mexican Eats, inspectors cited sanitation and food handling issues, including unclean food contact surfaces, improper glove use, and employees wearing prohibited jewelry.

Inspectors also noted missing operational postings, damaged equipment such as rusted shelving and torn oven mitts, and the need for additional safety barriers between cooking equipment.

At Shawn’s Subzero LLC, violations included improper food storage temperatures, expired milk, and prepared foods held beyond allowable time limits.

Additional issues included fruit flies in food service areas, missing consumer advisory notices, and sanitation concerns in multiple kitchen areas.
