CHESTER & MONTGOMERY COUNTIES — Drivers in Chester and Montgomery counties should prepare for several upcoming road closures as PennDOT schedules pipe replacement and pavement repair projects on key local roadways. The restrictions, which begin immediately and continue through late June, will require detours and could lead to significant delays during daytime travel hours.

The first closure remains in effect through Monday, June 15, on Old Skippack Road between Route 63 (Sumneytown Pike) and Shelly Road in Upper Salford Township, Montgomery County. Work is scheduled weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Drivers will be directed to use Route 63 (Sumneytown Pike) and Shelly Road during the closure.
A longer-term closure is scheduled on Route 252 (Valley Creek Road) in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County. Beginning Monday, June 15, and continuing through Friday, June 26, the roadway will be closed weekdays between Route 23 (Valley Forge Park Road) and Yellow Springs Road from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Drivers traveling through the area will be directed to use Swedesford Road, Gulph Road, and Route 23 (Valley Forge Park Road).
In Chester County, Birchrun Road/Hollow Road in West Vincent Township will be closed between Horseshoe Trail Road and Flowing Springs Road from Monday, June 22, through Wednesday, June 24. Work hours are scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
During that closure, drivers will be directed to use Flowing Springs Road, Saint Matthews Road, Route 401 (Conestoga Road), and Route 100 (Pottstown Pike).
PennDOT said local access will be maintained throughout all three projects. However, motorists should plan extra time, expect delays, and consider alternate routes when traveling near the work zones or along detour routes, particularly during peak daytime hours.
