WILMINGTON, DE — A 25-year-old Pennsylvania man is facing serious drug-related allegations following a traffic stop conducted by Wilmington Police last week.
According to authorities, the incident unfolded in the early hours of December 5, around 1:52 AM, when members of the Uniformed Services Division conducted a vehicle stop in the 600 block of North VanBuren Street. Officers encountered the driver, Sergio Bedolla-Cerritos of Kennett Square, PA, and determined he was wanted in connection with an unrelated matter.
Bedolla-Cerritos was taken into custody without incident, and a subsequent search reportedly uncovered five grams of crystal methamphetamine in his possession. Following further investigation, police allegedly recovered an additional 77 grams of cocaine.
The charges against Bedolla-Cerritos include Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver in a Tier 3 Quantity and Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 Quantity. He also faces traffic violations stemming from the stop.
After arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 20, Bedolla-Cerritos was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution under a $62,000 cash-only bail.
Law enforcement officials emphasize that all charges are accusations at this stage, and Bedolla-Cerritos is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
