Shooting Shocks Taylortown Shopping Center — Police Seek Answers

NEWARK, DE — The New Castle County Division of Police is conducting an investigation into a reported shooting that took place at the Taylortown Shopping Center on Songsmith Drive on Friday morning, November 22, 2024.

At approximately 10:22 a.m., police officers responded to reports of gunfire at the shopping center. Upon arrival, they found a 29-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit, along with the Evidence Detection Unit, have taken over the investigation. Authorities are actively working to gather information and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, has related video footage, or possesses additional details to come forward.
