$20K Reward as Homicide Suspect Sought in Mass Shooting

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s help in locating a 19-year-old man wanted in connection with a deadly mass shooting that left one person dead and multiple others injured, police said.

According to Philadelphia police, Naseem Sills, 19, is wanted in connection with a July 4, 2024, shooting in the 1900 block of South Salford Street. Police reported that officers responded at approximately 11:30 p.m. to a call for a person with a gun and found multiple victims at the scene.

Investigators said Maurice Quain, 19, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at 11:43 p.m. by Philadelphia Fire Department medics. Police reported that eight additional victims — ranging in age from 14 to 24 — sustained various gunshot wounds, including injuries to the leg, shoulder, foot, thigh, and head.

According to investigators, evidence recovered at the scene included multiple fired cartridge casings from different calibers, including 9mm, .40 caliber, and .380.

Police said Sills is accused in connection with the homicide and remains at large. Authorities are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
