WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man is facing multiple felony drug charges after police executed a search warrant in the city’s Ninth Ward and reported recovering large quantities of controlled substances, ammunition, and cash.
According to Wilmington Police, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division had been conducting an investigation into alleged illegal drug sales in the 300 block of West 37th Street.
Police said that at approximately 12 p.m. Tuesday, investigators executed a search warrant in the 300 block of West 37th Street. During the operation, officers made contact with 36-year-old Anwar Campbell, who was taken into custody without incident.
According to police, investigators recovered 1,064 doses of oxycodone pills, 2,065 grams of marijuana, 1.6 grams of crack cocaine, 38 doses of alprazolam pills, nine doses of amphetamine pills, ammunition, drug-packaging materials, and $3,749 in U.S. currency.
Campbell has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, Tier 3; one count of possession of a controlled substance, Tier 3; two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, Tier 2; two counts of possession of a controlled substance, Tier 2; two additional counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver; possession of ammunition by a person prohibited; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Court records show Campbell was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after bail was set at $146,250 cash only.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
