Police Say Burglar Used Stolen Badge to Invade Nonprofit Repeatedly

CLAYMONT, DE — Delaware State Police arrested a Chester man accused of repeatedly burglarizing a Claymont nonprofit facility and using stolen company vehicles during a series of incidents reported in March.

According to investigators, troopers responded March 17, 2026, to Conexio Care on Naamans Road for reports of multiple burglaries that allegedly occurred between March 13 and March 17.

Police identified the suspect as Ammar Dixon, 22, of Chester, Pennsylvania.

Investigators alleged Dixon unlawfully entered the business multiple times during overnight hours despite having no affiliation with the organization.

According to detectives, Dixon was confronted by an employee during the first incident and allegedly fled after stealing an access badge. Employees later discovered a bag allegedly left behind by Dixon that contained items bearing his personal identifying information, police said.

Investigators alleged Dixon later used the stolen access badge to repeatedly enter the building, rummage through offices, and steal keys to vehicles owned by the business.

According to police, Dixon allegedly drove several company vehicles before returning them to the parking garage.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Dixon during the investigation.

Police said Dixon was arrested in Pennsylvania on April 12, 2026, in connection with an unrelated incident and extradited to Delaware on May 5, 2026.

According to investigators, Dixon was taken to Troop 2, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on $19,000 unsecured bail.

Dixon is charged with four counts of third-degree burglary, three counts of theft under $1,500, attempted theft under $1,500, and three counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
