Ghost Gun Part Found After Armed Robbery Arrest in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have charged a 17-year-old male following an investigation into an armed robbery reported last month near Maple and South Broom streets.

According to investigators, police received a report at approximately 9:00 p.m. on April 28 regarding an armed robbery in the area.

The case was assigned to Detective Johnnie Everett of the Criminal Investigations Division, police reported.

Through the investigation, Detective Everett identified a 17-year-old male as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest, according to investigators.

Police said officers executed a search warrant on May 20 in the 1000 block of Duncan Street and located the juvenile, who was taken into custody without incident.

During the search, officers recovered what investigators described as a 3-D firearm frame.

According to police, the juvenile was charged with:

  • Robbery in the first degree
  • Possession of a firearm by a person prohibited
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
  • Carrying a concealed deadly weapon
  • Aggravated menacing

Police reported the juvenile was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and released pending further proceedings.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
