Crash With Injuries, Fraud Reports Mark Busy Day in Wyomissing

WYOMISSING, PA — Police responded to a range of incidents across Wyomissing on Monday, including a crash with injuries, fraud investigations, and multiple service calls, according to records released by the Wyomissing Police Department.

According to police, activity began shortly after midnight April 20 with a welfare check on Berkshire Court at 1:25 a.m., where an individual was provided transportation to another hotel.

At 3:52 a.m., officers conducted a security check at a business on Berkshire Boulevard after finding an unsecured rear door. Police reported the interior was checked and the door was secured.

Later that morning, at 7:16 a.m., officers responded to a 911 hang-up call on Old Mill Road. According to police, contact was made with the resident, who advised no assistance was needed.

At 10:15 a.m., police were dispatched to Ridgewood Road for a motor vehicle accident in a private parking lot. Investigators reported no injuries and no vehicles required towing.

At 10:38 a.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at State Hill Road and Penn Avenue. According to investigators, one man was transported to Reading Hospital for treatment, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Police also handled a burglar alarm on Meadow Lane at 10:27 a.m., which was canceled prior to arrival after a valid passcode was provided.

In the afternoon, officers conducted background checks at a location on Reading Boulevard at 1:25 p.m. and again at 2:05 p.m., according to police records.

At 2:02 p.m., officers responded to a 911 hang-up call on Park Road North, where no emergency was found. Around the same time, at 2:07 p.m., police conducted a welfare check on Old Mill Road and transported an individual to their residence.

Later in the day, at 5:29 p.m., officers responded to Delaware Avenue for a reported fraud investigation, which remains under review. At 6:13 p.m., police responded to a retail theft on State Hill Road involving approximately $98 in stolen merchandise.

At 7:54 p.m., officers investigated a report of access device fraud on Crossing Drive involving a credit card. Police said the case remains under investigation.

Police also responded at 8:26 p.m. to another 911 hang-up call on Park Road North, which was determined to be an accidental dial with no emergency.

Additionally, officers assisted Shillington Borough and Cumru Township police with a DUI checkpoint on Lancaster Avenue beginning at 8:00 p.m., according to authorities.
