PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia police are searching for a man accused of robbing a gas station employee at gunpoint as the worker prepared to take the business’s money to a bank on Aug. 31.
Police said the robbery occurred at approximately 12:37 p.m. at the Global Gas Station, 2200 Allegheny Ave.
According to investigators, the employee was leaving the business with the previous day’s deposit and attempting to enter his vehicle when an unknown man allegedly robbed him at gunpoint.
Surveillance video showed a newer-model Hyundai Elantra entering the gas station parking lot at approximately 11:15 a.m., police said. Investigators allege the suspect remained there for about 90 minutes before confronting the employee.
After the robbery, the suspect allegedly fled in the Elantra and was last seen traveling west on Allegheny Avenue, according to police.
Police described the suspect as a Black male with a medium build who was wearing a black hoodie and baseball cap. The vehicle was described as a black Hyundai Elantra displaying Pennsylvania temporary registration 4691-295, which police reported was returning no record.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
