POTTSTOWN, PA — Pickleball paddles and Halloween costumes will share the court in Pottstown as Open Hearth turns a night of friendly competition into a celebration supporting local families working toward housing and financial stability.
Open Hearth Inc. will host its Pickleball Palooza on Oct. 29 at Fit Life Fitness, inviting players and spectators for three hours of pickleball, costumes, and community fun. The fundraiser comes as the organization celebrates its 35th anniversary.
Players are encouraged to embrace the Halloween spirit, with a costume contest offering prizes for some of the evening’s best looks. Those who would rather cheer from the sidelines can purchase spectator tickets, and children can attend free.
The event is designed to be as much a community gathering as a competition, giving families and supporters a way to participate even if they never pick up a paddle.

Pickleball Palooza also gives Open Hearth an opportunity to mark 35 years of work in the region. In 2025 alone, the organization served more than 948 households from Chester County and portions of western Montgomery County, providing more than 1,600 services as some households participated in multiple programs.
For players, the evening offers a chance to test their skills and perhaps win some bragging rights. For spectators, it is an opportunity to cheer, enjoy the costumes and join the festivities. And for Open Hearth, every person who walks through the doors helps turn a night on the pickleball court into support for neighbors working toward greater stability.
