KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Students at Kennett High School are organizing a districtwide food drive through November 19 to collect groceries and household necessities for Kennett Area Community Service, bringing all six Kennett Consolidated School District schools into an effort to support families facing food insecurity.
The campaign, led by the high school’s Humanitarian Club, is collecting nonperishable food, pantry staples and personal care products for distribution through the local nonprofit organization.
Donations can be delivered to any district school, expanding collection opportunities across Kennett Square, Landenberg and Toughkenamon.
Organizers are requesting one- and two-pound bags of white rice, dried pinto or black beans, flour, sugar and Maseca corn flour.
Canned goods are also needed, including fruit, corn, mixed vegetables, tomatoes, tomato sauce, tuna, chicken, deviled ham and broth or stock.
Other requested pantry items include elbow and bowtie pasta, tortillas, cereal, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, Valentina hot sauce, salt, cooking oil, Nescafé instant coffee, regular coffee and tea.
The collection also includes feminine hygiene pads, toilet paper and paper towels, extending the campaign beyond food assistance to household essentials.
All six district schools are accepting donations:
