Coatesville School Board Fills Vacant Region I Seat

Coatesville Area School District

COATESVILLE, PA — The Coatesville Area School District Board of School Directors appointed Jarrell Brazzle on October 27 to represent the City of Coatesville and Valley Township, restoring representation to Region I after a vacancy that had persisted for several months and earlier unsuccessful attempts to fill the position.

Brazzle succeeds Donna Rowland, whose resignation left the Region I seat vacant. His appointment runs through December 2027.

The appointment followed previous board votes that failed to produce a replacement, ending a period in which the district’s nine-member governing body operated with an unfilled seat.

The district confirmed Brazzle’s appointment in its October 29 summary of the school board meeting, identifying him as its newest director.

District representatives and members of the Coatesville Community Education Foundation participated in a strategic planning session focused on establishing shared priorities and strengthening support for students and schools.

The district also highlighted its second annual Community Connections Summit, which brought together administrators, community organizations and students to discuss coordinating resources and addressing student needs.

Students involved in the district’s Students Against Destructive Decisions club also participated in a law enforcement symposium addressing stereotypes, bias, prejudice and relationships between teenagers and police.

At Coatesville Area Senior High School, students organized a voter registration drive to help eligible classmates prepare for the November 3 election.

Other activities included an October 21 Hispanic Heritage Month celebration featuring student performances, live music and local vendors, along with elementary school fire prevention programs conducted with local fire departments.
