WrkPlan Expands ERP Platform With AI, Manufacturing Tools

Business News

YARDLEY, PA — WrkPlan is expanding its software platform for government contractors with a modernized enterprise resource planning system, artificial intelligence-assisted proposal generation and new manufacturing and warehouse capabilities, broadening the company beyond its traditional contracting-focused ERP business.

The Yardley-based company introduced three offerings: WrkPlanEDGE, WrkPlanAI RFP Response Generation, and WrkPlan Manufacturing, Inventory & Warehouse Management.

WrkPlanEDGE represents a technology overhaul of the company’s existing ERP platform. Built using Microsoft Blazor technology, the system retains WrkPlan’s accounting, contracts, project management and compliance functions while adding AI-assisted accounts payable processing, customizable dashboards, enhanced reporting and updated workflows.

One new reporting function provides management with visibility into unposted transactions, unbilled direct labor, unbilled direct expenses and other outstanding items.

The expansion also moves WrkPlan further into generative AI through software designed to assist government contractors with responses to requests for proposals.

WrkPlanAI can analyze an RFP, statement of work, attachments and amendments alongside company materials such as past-performance files and experience summaries. The system then helps produce structured drafts of cost and technical proposals for review by subject-matter experts and business-development personnel.

The product is intended to automate portions of proposal development rather than replace human review. WrkPlan described the generated material as a starting draft that users must validate, strengthen and refine before submission.

The third component extends the platform into manufacturing, inventory and warehouse operations, opening the software to government contractors that produce or distribute physical goods as well as commercial manufacturers.

The system includes material requirements planning, production planning and scheduling, multilevel bills of materials, inventory control and valuation, barcoding and management of multiple warehouse locations. It also covers receiving, picking, packing, shipping and invoicing.

Manufacturing and warehouse-management functions can be implemented independently or together and connect with WrkPlan’s accounting, contracts, projects and procurement systems.

Chief Executive Officer Achintya Bhattacharjee described the expansion as a move from a government-contracting ERP product toward a broader technology platform.

“Our focus is practical — using modern technology and Artificial Intelligence to help our customers reduce administrative effort, improve operational visibility, respond to opportunities faster and compete more effectively,” Bhattacharjee stated.

The product expansion increases WrkPlan’s exposure to two areas reshaping enterprise software: generative AI for labor-intensive administrative processes and integrated operational systems that connect financial data with production and logistics.

For WrkPlan, the shift also broadens its potential customer base beyond government contractors primarily seeking accounting, project and compliance software to organizations requiring manufacturing and warehouse-management capabilities.
