WAWA, PA — Wawa and The Wawa Foundation are expanding their annual support for the USO with a series of fundraising initiatives, charitable donations, and community events tied to the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations, including plans to donate 60,000 hoagies and contribute at least $150,000 to military-support programs.
The campaign, which runs through July, combines customer fundraising, corporate giving, and public events across Wawa’s network of approximately 1,200 stores, underscoring the retailer’s long-standing partnership with the USO.
Beginning Memorial Day and continuing through July 19, customers can round up purchases at checkout to support USO programs serving military personnel and their families. During the same fundraising period in 2025, Wawa customers contributed approximately $900,000.
The company has also introduced a limited-time Red, White & Blue Razz Lemonade available through July 4. In conjunction with the product launch, Wawa is contributing $50,000 to the USO in recognition of America’s semiquincentennial.
Wawa’s annual Hoagie Day event returns July 1, with 30,000 hoagies scheduled for distribution at Philadelphia’s Independence Mall beginning at noon.
The company also plans to donate 30 hoagies from each of its stores to local first responders, military personnel, healthcare workers, and other community service organizations. Combined with the Philadelphia event, Wawa expects to distribute approximately 60,000 hoagies in a single day.
On July 2, The Wawa Foundation will present its Salute to Service Award during the Wawa Welcome America festival in Philadelphia. The award recognizes two USO centers and their volunteers for service to military members and families.
The foundation will contribute an additional $100,000 in conjunction with the award, including $25,000 for each honored USO center and $75,000 distributed among USO locations across Wawa’s operating footprint.
“Our longstanding partnership with the USO reflects Wawa’s deep commitment to serving those who serve and honoring everyday heroes,” Liz Simeone, president of The Wawa Foundation, stated.
USO Chief Development Officer Ben Leslie noted that Wawa has supported the organization for 15 years and highlighted the new initiatives tied to the nation’s 250th anniversary observance.
The campaign comes as Philadelphia prepares to serve as a focal point of national celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of American independence, with Wawa positioning several of its signature community events around the milestone year.
