DOVER, DE — Dover Motor Speedway will return to a traditional NASCAR points-paying weekend May 15-16, 2027, restoring championship implications to The Monster Mile after hosting the NASCAR All-Star weekend in 2026.
The NASCAR Cup Series will race 400 miles on Sunday, May 16, while the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will compete in the BetRivers 200 on Saturday, May 15.
The Cup event will mark Dover’s 58th consecutive year hosting NASCAR’s premier series and the track’s 109th Cup Series race. Dover is one of 12 tracks in NASCAR history to have hosted more than 100 Cup races.
The 2027 race also gives Denny Hamlin a chance to become the first driver to win four consecutive Cup Series races at Dover. Hamlin enters the event seeking a fourth straight victory and another Monster Mile trophy.
“Whether it’s a points race, an All-Star Race or a Chase race, one thing never changes—we work for the fans,” Dover Motor Speedway President and General Manager Mike Tatoian stated.
The track will also bring back its Fan Zone, with driver appearances, live music, food and drink, interactive activities and family entertainment scheduled around the race weekend.
Fans who attended Dover events in 2026 can renew their seats through Aug. 28 by contacting the ticket office or using their online accounts. Renewal customers can retain existing seat locations and may be eligible for upgrades.
