PHILADELPHIA, PA — Center City District will reopen Dilworth Park’s seasonal ice rink and holiday market November 13, bringing skating, retail vendors and winter programming to one of Philadelphia’s busiest public spaces as downtown businesses enter the holiday shopping season.
The seasonal operations will include the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink and Cabin, the Wintergarden and the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market, according to details released Wednesday, October 14.
The winter conversion follows a record year for Dilworth Park, which attracted 12.9 million visitors in 2025. The park, located beside City Hall, serves as a pedestrian destination connecting Center City’s retail, restaurant, and entertainment districts.
The Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink will operate daily from November 13 through February 21, 2027, with 90-minute skating sessions.
Admission costs $10 for adults and $8 for children ages 10 and younger. Skate rentals cost an additional $11, while groups of at least 10 people qualify for discounted rates.
Reservations and locker rentals are available at https://centercityphila.org/rink.
The rink will operate from noon to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 11 p.m. Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through January 3. Special holiday schedules and revised weekday hours will apply later in the season.
College students can receive $3 admission on Thursdays from 5:30 to 9 p.m., beginning November 19 and continuing through February 18, with a valid student identification card. Skate rentals are additional, and the discount excludes Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
The park will also offer free skating admission on Mondays and Tuesdays from February 1 through February 16, excluding skate rentals.
Accessible skating sleds will be available by reservation for children and adults with physical or developmental disabilities from January 4 through February 21. Reservations can be arranged through info@skaterothman.com.
The Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market will operate from November 13 through January 1, 2027, featuring dozens of regional vendors selling jewelry, artwork, skincare products, home goods and specialty foods.
Market hours will be noon to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and noon to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The market will close at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve and remain closed on Christmas Day.
The market will operate alongside the nearby Christmas Village, adding another concentration of seasonal retail activity around City Hall.
The Wintergarden, located on the Albert M. Greenfield Lawn, will remain open through March 28, 2027. The outdoor installation will feature illuminated sculptures, decorative lighting and seasonal landscaping.
The Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin will provide indoor dining, a bar and outdoor fire pits throughout the skating season. Weekday happy hours will run from 5 to 7 p.m. between November 16 and February 19.
Center City District has also scheduled paid tasting and cocktail-making events, with admission set at $42 per person.
The schedule includes Boards and Bottles on November 21, a cocktail tasting and food pairing on December 12, and Valentine’s Day cocktail-making classes on February 12 and 13.
Additional programming will extend beyond the traditional holiday shopping period, including board game socials on January 12 and 26 and February 9, weekly trivia from January 14 through February 18, and live music on Fridays from January 8 through February 19.
A whiskey and bourbon tasting is scheduled for January 23, followed by a January 24 book swap featuring Philadelphia author Jo Piazza. Registration for the book swap is available at https://go.allevents.in/lthae.
A Lunar New Year celebration on February 6 will include traditional Chinese dancers, a lion performance, food, and an appearance by the Philly Goat Project.
