PHILADELPHIA, PA — Historic Germantown has extended its discounted One Pass through Sept. 26, giving visitors four additional weeks to use a single admission program covering nine museums and historic sites across Northwest Philadelphia. The program had been scheduled to end Aug. 29.
The extension keeps the pass available at $43 for adults ages 14 and older and $28 for children ages 6 to 13 and adults 65 and older. Children 5 and younger are admitted free. Visit Philadelphia provides support for the program.
Unlike last year’s program, passes purchased this season remain valid through the entire program period, allowing customers to visit participating institutions on different days rather than completing their visits within a narrower window. The sites accept the pass on Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m., with some offering additional hours.
The nine participating institutions are Cliveden of the National Trust, The Colored Girls Museum, Concord School House and Upper Burial Ground, Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion, Germantown Historical Society, Johnson House Historic Site, Lest We Forget Slavery Museum, Stenton and Wyck Historic House and Garden.
The sites span several periods and subjects in Philadelphia and U.S. history. Cliveden is connected to the Battle of Germantown and the history of enslaved people who lived there, while Johnson House preserves a site associated with the Underground Railroad. The Colored Girls Museum focuses on the experiences of Black girls and women, and Lest We Forget Slavery Museum maintains artifacts and exhibitions documenting slavery.
“Historic Germantown is home to some of the most significant stories in Philadelphia and American history, and we’re excited to give residents and visitors more time to experience them,” Executive Director Tuomi Forrest stated. Forrest described the pass as a way to make visiting the sites easier and less expensive.
Other participating properties include the 18th-century Concord School House, the Victorian-era Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion, the Germantown Historical Society’s museum and research library, the colonial Stenton property and Wyck Historic House and Garden.
Visitors are advised to check individual institutions before arriving because operating hours and reservation requirements vary.
