Uplynk Expands Oracle Cloud Support to Target Hybrid Streaming Demand

Uplynk

WILMINGTON, DE — Uplynk has expanded support for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), allowing media companies to run core streaming functions across cloud and on-premises environments as broadcasters seek to modernize video operations without overhauling existing workflows.

The company said encoding, storage, and playout infrastructure can now operate on OCI while Uplynk’s platform manages live, linear, and video-on-demand streaming workflows across multiple environments.

The move reflects growing demand among broadcasters and content owners for hybrid deployment models that combine existing broadcast infrastructure with cloud-based services. Media companies face increasing pressure to distribute content across more platforms while controlling costs and maintaining operational reliability.

“Streaming environments have become increasingly complex, especially as customers scale distribution and syndication across more platforms,” said Perry Weinstein, head of channels and strategy at Uplynk. “Our focus is on helping customers simplify those operations while giving them the flexibility to adopt a hybrid strategy that fits their business.”

According to the company, the expanded OCI support is intended to allow customers to migrate workloads incrementally rather than through large-scale infrastructure replacements.

Uplynk said customers can use OCI for high-performance video processing, storage, and content distribution while continuing to operate established workflows and operational tools.

The platform also supports personalized streaming features through Uplynk SmartPlay, including session-level stream customization and individualized manifest generation. Customers can use StreamOps for monitoring and operational support across hybrid environments.

“Media companies want the flexibility to modernize at their own pace,” Weinstein said. “By extending Uplynk to OCI, customers can combine existing broadcast infrastructure with cloud-based services, scale as demand grows, and adopt new capabilities without disrupting the workflows they rely on every day.”

Oracle said the partnership is aimed at customers seeking greater flexibility in managing media infrastructure.

“Media companies are increasingly seeking cloud strategies that deliver both flexibility and operational efficiency,” said Kip Schauer, who oversees media partnerships at Oracle. “OCI is designed to support high-performance media workflows at scale, both on-prem and in the cloud.”

Financial terms of the expanded relationship were not disclosed.
