PHILADELPHIA, PA — From dancing through a free Zumba class to browsing handmade goods and watching Philadelphia Ballet performers beneath the Center City skyline, Dilworth Park is filling its fall calendar with ways to get outside and enjoy the heart of Philadelphia.

Center City District’s seasonal lineup stretches into October with outdoor fitness, pickleball, local shopping, performing arts, food and family activities, all just steps from City Hall.

For those looking to keep moving as summer winds down, Center City Fit presented by Rothman Orthopaedics continues with free Zumba classes every Tuesday at 6 p.m. through Oct. 6. Professional instructors from City Fitness lead the sessions, which are open to participants of all skill levels. Attendees should arrive early to complete a waiver, and no bag check will be available.

Pickleball players will have another reason to head downtown when CityPickle sets up two professional-grade courts in the park from Sept. 2 through Oct. 18. Reservations open Aug. 26, with additional information available at city-pickle.com/locations/city-hall-philadelphia.

Local Makers Take Over the Park

Labor Day weekend will bring more than 50 artisans and small businesses to Dilworth Park for the Made in Philadelphia Market.

Running Sept. 4 through 6, the outdoor marketplace will feature handmade jewelry, baked goods, candles, skincare products and other locally produced finds.

The market returns Oct. 9 through 11 as part of the Made in Philadelphia Fall Fest, adding seasonal activities, a beer garden, live entertainment and free apple cider pressing while supplies last.

Philadelphia Ballet Steps Onto Center Stage

Dance will take the spotlight Oct. 1 when members of the School of Philadelphia Ballet and Philadelphia Ballet II appear for a special edition of Arts on Center Stage.

The one-night-only program begins at 5:30 p.m., with seating on the NRG Pitch at the Albert M. Greenfield Lawn. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair.

Visitors can also make an afternoon or evening of their trip downtown. The Dilworth Park Café serves coffee, breakfast sandwiches and sweets daily, while The Patio offers sandwiches, wraps and salads along with cocktails, wine and beer for guests 21 and older in the evening.

Dilworth Park’s fountains will remain open daily through Oct. 18.
