U.S. 422 Night Work Could Bring Painful Montgomery County Delays

Traffic, flagging

LIMERICK, PA — Drivers should prepare for overnight lane closures and traffic backups in both directions on U.S. 422 as crews mill and pave the highway in Limerick and Upper Providence townships.

Eastbound U.S. 422 will be reduced by one lane from 7:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following morning while crews perform milling work.

No detour has been announced. Drivers should plan extra time because backups and delays are expected through the work zones. Seek alternate routes when practical and remain alert for workers, equipment and changing traffic patterns.

The schedule is weather dependent and may be postponed if conditions are unfavorable.

The restrictions are part of a $6.2 million project to resurface and repair 4.4 miles of U.S. 422 in Limerick and Upper Providence townships. Work includes milling, a bituminous pavement overlay, new pavement markings, edge-line rumble strips and base repairs where needed.
