- Dates: Monday, November 9, through Friday, November 13, 2026.
- Times: 9:00 PM–12:00 AM, one lane closed; 12:00 AM–5:00 AM, two lanes closed.
- Reason: Installation of underside shielding on the overhead southbound bridge.
Crews will initially close one northbound lane at 9:00 PM before expanding the restriction to two lanes at midnight. The double-lane closure will remain in effect until 5:00 AM.
The work involves installing protective shielding beneath the southbound bridge structure as part of the broader rehabilitation of the Girard Point Bridge and nine approach structures.
PennDOT warns that backups and delays will occur through the construction zone. Motorists traveling northbound overnight should allow extra time, remain alert for lane changes and consider alternate routes when practical.
The $261.5 million project is intended to rehabilitate the bridge and its approaches along this heavily traveled section of I-95.
All scheduled construction activities are weather dependent.
