PHILADELPHIA, PA — Motorists traveling through two major Philadelphia highway interchanges should prepare for daytime lane restrictions November 9–11, as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) schedules bridge inspections on southbound U.S. 1 and Interstate 95.
At a Glance
- Roads Affected: U.S. 1 Southbound (Roosevelt Expressway) at the I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) interchange; I-95 Southbound at the Philadelphia International Airport interchange.
- Dates: Monday, November 9, through Wednesday, November 11, 2026.
- Times: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM daily.
- Reason: Bridge inspections.
On Monday, November 9, and Tuesday, November 10, a lane closure will restrict southbound U.S. 1 at the I-76 interchange during the six-hour inspection periods.
On Wednesday, November 11, alternating lane closures will affect southbound I-95 at the Philadelphia International Airport interchange during the same hours.
Local access will be maintained throughout both operations. PennDOT advises motorists to allow extra travel time because backups and delays may occur near the inspection areas.
All scheduled work is weather dependent. Drivers should remain alert for changing lane patterns and use caution when approaching inspection crews.
