WEST CHESTER, PA — Twinkling lights, decorated Christmas trees and festive displays will fill the Chester County History Center this December as the museum invites families to celebrate the holiday season and the diverse traditions that bring the community together.

Season of Lights returns Dec. 2, 2026, through Jan. 2, 2027, transforming the History Center’s galleries into a welcoming seasonal destination that celebrates Chester County’s many cultures, traditions and heritages.

The monthlong exhibition offers residents and visitors an opportunity to enjoy holiday decorations while exploring a museum dedicated to preserving and sharing the county’s history.

A Celebration of Community and Togetherness

Chester County’s cultural diversity provides the inspiration for Season of Lights, which emphasizes the shared spirit of warmth, unity and togetherness during the winter holidays.

The exhibition welcomes people of all backgrounds, offering a setting where families, friends and neighbors can celebrate the holidays while appreciating the community’s varied traditions.

Unlike a one-day holiday event, Season of Lights continues for several weeks, giving families flexibility to visit throughout December and into the new year.

Holiday Displays and Gift Shopping

In addition to enjoying the decorated galleries, visitors can explore the Chester County History Center’s Museum Shop for distinctive holiday gifts.

The shop provides another reason to stop by during the season, particularly for those searching for presents connected to local history and the museum experience.
