MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Drivers navigating the busy U.S. 202 corridor in eastern Montgomery County should prepare for continued detours on Township Line Road and a major traffic pattern change on Germantown Pike later this month as a long-running reconstruction project enters its next phase.

PennDOT said Township Line Road will remain closed around the clock between Swede Road and U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) through Tuesday, June 16, as crews continue major reconstruction work.
During the closure, motorists are being directed to use Swede Road, Germantown Pike, and U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) to travel around the work zone.
Local and emergency access is being maintained on the eastbound side of Township Line Road, but PennDOT is warning motorists to expect significant backups and slowdowns along the detour route.
The current phase of construction will allow crews to complete full-depth pavement reconstruction on the west leg of the U.S. 202 and Township Line Road intersection, as well as the center and westbound lanes between U.S. 202 and Swede Road.
Once Township Line Road reopens, the project will shift to nearby Germantown Pike.
Beginning Wednesday, June 17, Germantown Pike between Mill Road and Hannah Avenue will be reduced to a single lane in each direction 24 hours a day through Thursday, October 1. Traffic shifts are also expected throughout the work zone as reconstruction continues.
PennDOT said reconstruction of the east leg of the U.S. 202 and Township Line Road intersection will continue through the summer and early fall while maintaining one lane of traffic in each direction.
The work is part of a larger multi-phase effort to reconstruct, widen, and improve a 9.1-mile stretch of U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) between Johnson Highway in Norristown and Route 309 in Montgomery Township.
Drivers should plan extra time, expect delays, and consider alternate routes when traveling through the area, particularly during peak commuting periods.
