WILMINGTON, DE — The Delaware State Police announced that early Saturday morning a suspect was arrested in connection to two separate bank robberies that occurred in Wilmington several weeks ago.

Brian Adam, age 57 from Wilmington, Delaware, has been charged with two felony counts of Theft Over $1,500

The criminal complaint alleges that on June 22, 2023, at approximately 11:39 a.m., troopers responded to the Citizens Bank located inside of the Acme grocery store at 2098 Naamans Road after a suspect presented a note to the teller and demanded money. Similarly, on July 5, 2023, at approximately 12:50 p.m., troopers responded to the M&T Bank located at 5701 Concord Pike after a suspect presented a note to the teller and demanded money. In both incidents, the tellers complied and the suspect fled the scene with cash.

The Troop 2 Robbery Unit began investigating these cases and identified Brian Adam as the suspect. Shortly after midnight on July 16, 2023, troopers from Troop 2 and officers from the New Castle County Police Department located Adam walking on Pulaski Highway near Buckley Boulevard in Bear. He was taken into custody without incident.

Adam was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $10,000 cash bond. Additional robbery charges may be forthcoming as the State Police and federal agencies continue to investigate these cases.
