CME Outfitters Earns Gold Award for IBD Education Tool

Business News

RADNOR, PA — CME Outfitters, a division of KnowFully Learning Group, received a Gold Award in the 2026 Spring Digital Health Awards for an educational resource that integrates patient perspectives into treatment decision-making for inflammatory bowel disease, highlighting a growing emphasis on patient-centered care in medical education.

The award, presented by the Health Information Resource Center, recognized the company’s CaseWise™ resource, “Mission Possible: Choosing the Right Therapy for the Right Patient at the Right Time,” in the Web-based Resource/Tool category. The program was developed to help gastroenterologists and other clinicians navigate treatment decisions for patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

The recognition comes as healthcare organizations increasingly seek educational tools that combine clinical evidence with patient-reported outcomes and quality-of-life considerations.

According to CME Outfitters, the resource was created as part of an enduring educational program following a live symposium held during the Crohn’s & Colitis Congress®. The program focuses on the use of IL-23 inhibitors and incorporates patient priorities into treatment planning.

A distinguishing feature of the project was the direct involvement of patients in its development. Patient advocates Natalie Hayden and Kaylaa’ White contributed to the program’s design, while feedback from 35 individuals living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis helped shape its educational content and treatment priorities.

The program incorporates patient case studies, journey-mapping exercises, and shared decision-making tools designed to help clinicians align treatment strategies with goals identified by patients, including reducing fatigue, returning to work, and minimizing long-term steroid use.

CME Outfitters is an accredited provider of continuing medical education and holds Joint Accreditation with Commendation. The award-winning activity was supported through an educational grant from Johnson & Johnson.
