WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Mint will begin sales Thursday of limited-edition Morgan and Peace reverse proof silver dollars commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary, expanding its lineup of semiquincentennial collectibles aimed at coin collectors and investors.

Orders for the 2026 Morgan Reverse Proof Silver Dollar and 2026 Peace Reverse Proof Silver Dollar will open at noon EDT on July 9, the Mint said.

Each coin carries a production limit of 250,000 and will be priced at $173. Buyers will be limited to 10 of each product during the first 24 hours of sales.

The one-year commemorative issues feature the dual dates “1776 ~ 2026” and include a Liberty Bell privy mark bearing the number “250” to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence.

The coins are struck in 99.9% fine silver at the Philadelphia Mint.

The Morgan Dollar, designed by George T. Morgan, was minted from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921 and became associated with U.S. industrial growth and westward expansion.

The Peace Dollar, designed by Anthony de Francisci, was introduced in 1921 and produced through 1935 to commemorate peace following World War I and the nation’s emergence as a global power.

Both coins will be sold in presentation packaging that includes a certificate of authenticity.

The release is part of a broader series of products and commemorative programs tied to the United States’ semiquincentennial celebration in 2026.
