PAOLI, PAState Representative Melissa Shusterman has announced the allocation of a $1 million grant to Paoli Memorial Hospital. This funding, sourced from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), is set to facilitate the transformation of the hospital’s 3 South Building into a modern patient care unit.

The renovation project is crucial in addressing the increased patient volume experienced by the hospital, a challenge compounded by recent unexpected hospital closures in the region. The planned renovations will enable Paoli Memorial to expand its capacity, specifically by increasing the number of private patient rooms available. This expansion is expected to improve patient care and accommodate the healthcare needs of a growing community.

Rep. Shusterman emphasized the importance of the grant, stating, “Our region has faced unexpected hospital closures, resulting in increased pressure on our community’s health care resources. This essential grant will allow Paoli Hospital to expand its services and maintain a high standard of care for a larger number of residents. These funds are crucial to address both current and future demand.”

The RACP is a Pennsylvania state program designed to support regional projects that deliver significant economic, cultural, and community benefits. These projects are particularly important for initiatives that cannot secure primary funding from other state resources, thus providing critical financial support to maintain or enhance regional economic activity and public welfare.
