EXTON, PA — Ricoh USA has been named a Leader in the inaugural IDC MarketScape assessment of worldwide mailroom solutions and services, a recognition that underscores growing demand for integrated digital document management and secure information processing as organizations modernize back-office operations.
The company was recognized in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Mailroom Solutions and Services 2026 Vendor Assessment, which evaluated providers on capabilities and business strategy. Ricoh announced the recognition Tuesday.
According to the report, Ricoh’s approach combines managed services, AI-enabled automation, security infrastructure and an outcome-based operating model to help organizations transform traditional mailrooms into centralized information management operations.
The assessment cited Ricoh’s Intelligent Business Platform, which allows customers to subscribe to modular services while sharing data and reporting across a single platform. It also highlighted the company’s ability to manage both physical and digital mail through a unified delivery model.
IDC additionally pointed to Ricoh’s certified processing environments and compliance capabilities as strengths, noting the company’s ability to serve regulated industries including healthcare, financial services, government and legal organizations. The report also cited Ricoh’s consulting and implementation services spanning the full mailroom transformation lifecycle.
“The way organizations manage incoming and outgoing communications is rapidly evolving, and the mailroom is at the center of that shift,” Bob Lamendola, chief digital services and delivery officer for Ricoh North America, said in a statement.
Lamendola said the recognition reflects the company’s strategy of combining technology with managed services to help organizations modernize legacy workflows while improving operational efficiency and security.
The IDC report also stated that Ricoh’s unified delivery model, certified processing infrastructure and Intelligent Business Platform reduce the complexity of managing multiple vendors while providing end-to-end chain-of-custody visibility and real-time operational analytics.
