FIDx Wins Industry Award for Managed-Account Income Technology

Fiduciary Exchange, LLC FIDx

BERWYN, PA — Fiduciary Exchange LLC (FIDx) has received a 2026 MMI/Barron’s Industry Award for technology that allows financial advisors to add guaranteed lifetime income protection to managed investment accounts without transferring client assets, recognizing an approach designed to integrate insurance products into existing wealth management platforms.

The Berwyn-based company won the Technology/Solutions Provider of the Year award in the Emerging Technologies category for its Insurance Overlays platform, according to FIDx.

The technology connects insurance carriers, custodians and wealth management platforms, allowing advisors to incorporate insurance-based income protection into investment accounts while retaining control over portfolio allocations.

Traditional approaches to providing guaranteed retirement income can require assets to be transferred into separate insurance products. FIDx’s system instead enables an insurance overlay to be applied to an existing managed account.

The distinction allows clients to maintain their underlying investments while adding contractual income protection through participating insurers.

“Advisors have never lacked interest in protected lifetime income for their clients,” Michael Kazanjian, head of Insurance Overlays at FIDx, stated. “What they lacked was a way to deliver it without moving assets, giving up control of the allocation, or leaving the platforms they use every day.”

FIDx previously launched its Insurance Overlays marketplace with a Prudential strategy on the Dimensional Fund Advisors Unified Managed Account platform.

That implementation marked the first native integration of a contingent deferred annuity overlay within a unified managed account workflow, according to the company.

Contingent deferred annuities are insurance arrangements designed to provide guaranteed income under specified contractual conditions while the associated investment assets remain in a separately managed portfolio.

The MMI/Barron’s Industry Awards, now in their 18th year, recognize financial services firms across 12 categories covering asset management, wealth management technology, marketing, education and other industry activities.

The program is organized by the Money Management Institute, a financial services industry association, and Barron’s.

Winners were recognized during the 2026 MMI Annual Conference in Boston in October.

The award recognizes FIDx’s effort to connect insurance-based retirement income products with managed-account infrastructure, an area of wealth management technology focused on combining investment management and income protection within existing advisory platforms.
