WEST CHESTER, PA — Guardian Technologies said it recently launched the FLT420B Cannabis Smoke Air Purifier Replacement Filter, designed to reduce odors and volatile organic compounds associated with cannabis smoke.
The company said the filter is compatible with several GermGuardian air purifier models, including the AC4880, AC4825E, AC4300, AC4825, AC4870, AC4820, AC4900, AC4850PT, CDAP4500, and AP2200CA.
Guardian Technologies said standard HEPA filters capture airborne particles but are not designed to retain gaseous compounds that contribute to persistent odors.
The FLT420B uses odor-control media to target monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes, which the company said are primary contributors to cannabis smoke odor.
The company said the filter captures more volatile organic compounds than standard HEPA filters and is designed to maintain airflow over time.
“The FLT420B represents GermGuardian’s commitment to meeting consumers where they are,” Rukky Ojakovo, senior director of heaters and air quality, said, citing increased demand for products addressing cannabis smoke odors.
The company said the filter was rated effective by more than 90% of users in a two-week in-home test.
The FLT420B is priced at $39.99 and is available through Amazon and the company’s website at GuardianTechnologies.com.
