CHESTER SPRINGS, PASALT Performing Arts is opening its 2026 season by looking back to where it all began, reviving its very first production, A Grand Night for Singing, more than a decade after it helped launch the community theater company.

The Rodgers & Hammerstein revue will run January 9 through January 18, 2026, at SALT Chester Springs, 1645 Art School Road, Chester Springs, Pennsylvania 19425. Tickets are on sale now at https://www.saltpa.com/agrandnightforsinging.

The production offers a modern interpretation of the legendary songwriting duo’s catalog, blending classic melodies with contemporary staging. Audiences can expect a live orchestra on stage, vocal performances, and choreography featuring a mix of longtime SALT collaborators and newer performers. The show revisits music made famous by Broadway staples such as Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I, and The Sound of Music.

A Grand Night for Singing originally premiered at SALT in October 2014, marking the organization’s first full production. Twelve years later, the revival is designed as both a celebration of SALT’s growth and a tribute to its origins.

Lauren McComas, president and artistic director of SALT Performing Arts, reflected on the company’s early days, recalling that the original production was staged with limited technical resources but abundant ambition. She said the journey since that first opening night has been driven by faith, community support, and a shared commitment to creating meaningful theatrical experiences.
